‘Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP)’ is designed in collaboration with Dr. Amit Ranjan Biswas (an internationally renowned adolescent neuropsychiatrist, lecturer in the University of London) to help young people (age 16-25) to develop self-awareness, emotional, social intelligence and cultivate psycho-social abilities for adaptive and positive behavior to cultivate a community of conscious individuals and leaders.

The workshop for the teachers ‘WEAVING VALUES THROUGH TEACHING’ was recently conducted in Kolkata and Kharagpur for the newly inducted faculty of Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools, Eastern Zone. The workshop includes progressive approach for imparting teachers’ explicit and implicit core universal value systems and life skills that is associated with academic curriculum and deep rooted principles, embedded in school and classroom practices. All of these different methods integrate hands-on strategies and problem-solving activities into daily teaching practices.

Beginning with the ‘REKINDLING HEARTS’ program as a pilot project in few schools, from past 2 years in Kolkata, the current academic year has seen it expanding exponentially to schools across Kolkata, Kharagpur, Bhubaneshwar and Nagpur. We have successfully reached thousands of students.
Our curriculum is based on the NCF guidelines (2005) and Prof. Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences which emphasizes on activity-based experiential learning.

Effective Teaching Strategies
Systematic focus is placed on experiencing core universal values and practicing life skills, with four key sections: brief introduction; think and reflect/discuss scenario for core understanding; storytelling through audio visual inputs and activities/projects.
Building classroom teaching resources and modules containing practical values activities and a range of methods like presentations, case studies, stories, role plays, dramas, videos and music, classroom activities (paper and pencil and participatory activities), and take home points.
Experiential learning with inside and outside class approach occurs in partnership with students, staff, families and the school community to awaken the values in the students.
Encouraging peer learning wherein they learn to explore and think for themselves, in the process also learning from them.
Personal change record book, practical homework and personal commitment booklet is used to inspire a positive behavioural change in students.

Parenting workshop on ‘POSITIVE PARENTING’, which explores experiential approach with an active learning model based on best practices of parenting education has been recently organized in Kolkata. The workshop is based on proper research evidenced based methodical approaches covering Twebster Stratton group, Incredible Years book and Triple P parenting.

A workshop was organized by Susamskar Foundation on "Positive Parenting" on 9th February for parents of Class II and Class III at Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir School Auditorium. Approximately 50 parents participated in the seminar.

Child, adolescent and parent counselling ‘INNER VOICE’ provides opportunity to discuss problems one-o-one with the counselor and gain insight into his/her concerns in a safe and confidential environment. Discussions are based on the ages, developmental levels, and specific concerns of the children and adolescents along with listening and addressing the grievances of the parents. We also provide support information and referrals in a child friendly manner.
